Right Tire& Rubber Cutting Blades for Your Work

Rubber comes in many forms. Soft sheets. Tough conveyor belts. Reinforced tire cord. Each material needs a specific blade to cut cleanly and efficiently. Using the wrong blade leads to ragged edges, frequent replacements, and production delays.

We supply rubber cutting blades designed for the full range of rubber processing applications. From tire manufacturing to sheet slitting and detail trimming, you'll find blades that deliver straight, burr-free cuts and long service life.

Rubber Slitter Blades – For Sheets, Rolls, and Gaskets

When you slit rubber rolls or cut gaskets from sheet stock, you need blades that hold an edge and cut straight. Ragged edges mean wasted material and rejected parts. Our rubber slitter blades work across a range of machines and materials. We manufacture them in several configurations to match your setup.

We make these blades in materials matched to your rubber type. Softer natural rubber cuts well with 9CrSi. Abrasive synthetic compounds need the wear resistance of SKD-11. For high-speed lines, SKH-51 holds up better under heat. Tell us what you're cutting and we'll match you with the right blade.

Tire Cutting Blades

Tire manufacturing puts blades to the test. You're not just cutting rubber. You're cutting rubber reinforced with steel cord and fabric ply. Blades need to slice through these materials without fraying or losing their edge mid-run.

Choosing the Right Material for Rubber Cutting Blades

Rubber compounds vary widely in how they wear down blades. Carbon black fills many rubber compounds – it acts as an abrasive that gradually erodes cutting edges. Some compounds contain fabric or fiber reinforcements that accelerate wear.

Here's how different blade materials perform:

  • 9CrSi – A good choice for natural rubber and softer compounds. It offers decent toughness and takes a sharp edge. Economical for operations that don't push blades to their limits.
  • SKD-11 (Cr12MoV) – Handles abrasive compounds much better. The higher wear resistance means longer runs between blade changes. Good for synthetic rubber and materials with moderate abrasiveness.
  • SKH-51 (W6Mo5Cr4V2) – High-speed steel that maintains its edge even when friction generates heat. Good for high-speed slitting lines and materials that tend to heat up blades.
  • Tungsten steel – For the toughest applications. Tire recycling, heavily filled compounds, and jobs that wear out other blades quickly.

Higher initial cost but longer life in extreme conditions. Not sure which material fits your work? Tell us about your application and we'll recommend the right option.

Custom Rubber Cutting Blades – Any Shape, Any Size

Standard blades cover most applications. But sometimes you need something different. A specific hole pattern. An unusual shape. A material combination not in our standard lineup.

We build custom rubber cutting blades to your exact specifications.

  • Any shape you need – Circular, straight, curved, toothed, serrated, scalloped, pointed tip. If you can draw it, we can make it.
  • Any size you need – Dimensions to fit your machine exactly. No shimming. No modifications.
  • Any material you need – Choose from our standard steels or specify your own. We work with you to match the material to your application.
  • OEM replacement – Have a blade that needs replacing but can't find the source? Send us a sample or drawing. We'll replicate it exactly.

Getting started is simple. Send us your drawing, sketch, or sample blade. Tell us about your application. We'll provide a quote and timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of blade works best for cutting rubber?

It depends on what you're cutting and how. For slitting rubber sheets, circular blades work well. For tire cord with steel reinforcement, you need steel ply cutter blades. For trimming flash off molded parts, trimmer blades or hand knives do the job. Tell us your application and we'll point you to the right option.

What are the main types of rubber cutting blades?

Most rubber cutting falls into three categories. Slitter blades for sheet and roll stock. Tire blades for manufacturing and recycling. Trimmer blades for finishing and detail work. Each category includes several blade styles for different machines and materials.

What blade material resists wear from abrasive rubber?

SKD-11 handles abrasive compounds well. For extreme wear, tungsten steel lasts longer but costs more upfront. The right choice depends on your production volume and how often you want to change blades.

Can you make custom-shaped rubber blades?

Yes. We produce blades in any shape, any size, any material. Send us your drawing or sample and we'll quote the job.

Do you supply hand tools for cutting rubber?

Yes. Our rubber trimmer blades section includes hand trimming knives – hook knives, curved blades, and scrapers for manual work.

How do I know which blade fits my machine?

If you have an existing blade, measure it. Outside diameter, bore size, thickness. If you don't have a blade, tell us your machine make and model. We may have a replacement on file or can work from your machine specs.

Not Sure Which Blade You Need?

You know your material. You know your machine. You know what kind of cut you want. But you're not sure which blade gets you there. Tell us about your application:

We'll take that information and recommend the right blade. No pressure. Just practical advice from people who work with these blades every day.
