Grain Rain--24 Chinese Solar Terms
Grain Rain, known as Grain Rain in China, means the growth of hundreds of grains.
It falls on April 20 or 21 each year, when the sun reaches longitude 30. According to the "Seventy-two Hours Collection Notes", in the middle of March after the rain, the earth began to renew.
Sowing grains at this time is beneficial to the human body, hence the name. During this period, poplars fall, cuckoos sing, catkins fly, peonies sprout, and cherries ripen. All these sights suggest that it is now the end of spring. At this time, the temperature in the south is rising.
Generally speaking, the average temperature at the end of April has reached 20 to 22 degrees Celsius, except for parts of northern and western South China. Compared with mid-April, the temperature has risen by 2 degrees Celsius or more. Southeastern China will experience high temperatures for one to two days. People are starting to feel hot. The valleys at lower elevations enter summer.
