Characteristics of wood cutting

Wood heat resistance is poor, processing can not exceed its coking temperature (110-120 degrees).
High-speed cutting, the cutting speed is generally 40-70m/s, up to 120m/s, because high-speed cutting makes the chips too late to split along the direction of the fiber are cut off by the blade, so as to obtain higher geometric accuracy and surface roughness, while the surface temperature of the wood will not exceed the coking temperature. To ensure high-speed cutting, there are higher requirements for all aspects of the machine tool, such as the strength and stiffness of the machine tool spindle components are higher, the dynamic and static balance of the high-speed rotating parts is higher, the use of high-speed bearings, the vibration resistance of the machine tool is better, and the structure and material selection of the knife should be adapted to high-speed cutting.
The non-uniformity of the processed material, and there is a certain moisture content, even if the same tree species, growth conditions, moisture content, fiber direction is different, so it will produce different cutting power consumption, burr and other processing defects, affecting the processing accuracy, for different directions of the cutting need different shapes of the tool. Factors such as tree species, density, moisture content, wood texture, fiber direction, growth rings, temperature, mechanical strength, and wood defects should also be considered.
