SKD 11, SK5 material

SKD 11 / D2
SKD 11 is a high carbon, high chromium heat treatment tool steel to HRC 60-62 intended for applications requiring high wear resistance, particularly molding and processing of abrasive plastics, and offers excellent abrasion resistance, due to a large volume of carbides in the microstructure. It has been widely used for many years in cold work applications requiring very high wear resistance. It is machinable in the annealed condition and, like other air-hardening tool steels, exhibits minimal distortion on hardening.

Machine knives will use such material: paper cutting knife, granulator knife.

SK5
SK5 is cold rolled special steel offers excellent abrasion resistance. It has been widely used for many applications requiring high hardness and wear resistance. Apply to metal cutting tools. shear blade.

For some thin blade, we will choose it instead of D2 since there's little thin steel plate of D2. Also, SK5 material is suitable for small pelletizer knife.
