Most popular and economical way: rotary cut.
A whole log is mounted in the lathe and turned against a rotary peeling knife, like unwinding a roll of paper. It's the most economial way of veneer cut. No waste. Rotary cut veneer can be wide enough to produce full-sheet faces and make into veneers.
Other ways: quarter sliced veneers, flat cut or plain sliced veneers, half round sliced veneers.
